Supporter Engagement Lead

We are looking for a Supporter Engagement Lead to join the Individual Giving team at Samaritans. This role is responsible for the strategic development, delivery and growth of the supporter engagement programme that grows supporter loyalty and income in line with agreed targets and KPIs. The role will focus on stewardship, digital fundraising and outstanding creative execution across different audiences and channels that maximise engagement.

  • Full time (35 hours per week)

  • £46,000-£48,000 per annum plus benefits

What makes this role brilliant

Individual giving accounts for 33% of Samaritans’ overall fundraising income. This is a great time to join Samaritans as we launch our new organisational strategy including a new Fundraising strategy. You’ll help scope and develop the strategic development of supporter engagement at Samaritans, exploring new ideas and approaches. This is a brand new role and the starting point of developing the team and wider programme of work. The Individual Giving team is small, friendly, and collaborative. 

Key Responsibilities

You’ll lead and motivate a team of three to develop and deliver a robust programme of activity. You’ll be responsible for strategy development, delivering a programme of engagement activities, innovation, and compliance. 

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive direct marketing knowledge in planning and managing multi-channel, integrated campaigns 
  • Knowledge and experience of developing digital and offline programmes to engage new and existing supporters 
  • Experience of managing budgets including reforecasting and reporting 
  • Strong leadership, management and team building skills to deliver annual plans 
  • Proven experience of increasing income through continuous improvement and innovation
  • Previous experience of strategic planning 
  • Passionate about supporter experience
