Samaritans is looking for a Digital Products Manager to join the Online Harms team on an 12 month fixed term contract. As Digital Products Manager, you’ll build the confidence and skills of users to help navigate the online environment safely in relation to suicide and self-harm. You’ll manage Samaritans’ portfolio of online harms digital projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, to high standards and in line with user needs and stakeholder expectations.
• £39,000-£42,000 per annum
• 12 months fixed term contract (with potential to extend)
• Full time (35 hours per week)
• Hybrid: Linked to Ewell (Surrey) office with home and office working
Samaritans’ Online Excellence Programme
Samaritans is developing a hub of excellence in suicide prevention and the online environment, working in partnership with Department of Health and Social Care, Facebook, Instagram, Google, YouTube and Pinterest. The three-year programme aims to promote consistently high standards across the sector by providing a
centralised space for those working in and around the industry to find support and guidance, providing
opportunities to convene and share best practice. Further information is here.
The Role:
• Oversee the development, maintenance and promotion of the online harms team’s portfolio of digital products and campaigns
• Expand our current digital products and campaigns to help equip users, and the people around them, to stay safe online when engaging with self-harm and suicide related content online
• Expand our digital products for industry, helping them respond to self-harm and suicide in a safe and sensitive way
• Collaborate with specialist advisors to influence the online harms team’s portfolio of digital products
Skills & Experience:
• Previous experience developing and managing digital products or campaigns.
• Track record of successfully using data-led insights to support continuous improvement in a digital context.
• Experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously, developing them on time to a high quality.
• Understanding of user experience principles and skilled at interpreting user behaviour.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the technical considerations involved in building and operating digital products.
• Experience of managing people, teams and external contractors.
• Understands the different phases of product delivery and is able to contribute to, plan or run these.
